- How many downlights do I need per room?
- As a rule of thumb, one quality LED downlight per 1.5-2m of ceiling grid - but layout matters more than count. We plan positions with you before drilling anything.
- Can you replace halogens with LEDs in the same holes?
- Almost always yes - modern LED fittings suit standard cutouts, so there's no patching.
- Are your downlights dimmable?
- We install dimmable LEDs with compatible dimmers - mixing old dimmers with new LEDs is a common cause of flicker, which we'll sort at the same time.
- How many downlights do I need per room?
- As a general guide, allow one LED downlight for every 1.2 to 1.5 square metres of floor for even ambient light, adjusting for ceiling height and any task areas such as a kitchen bench. A licensed electrician can plan the spacing to avoid dark spots and wire the circuit to AS/NZS 3000.
